On Mondays we like to draw your attention to certain aspects of the Scottish Women’s Bible Convention. For the next few weeks, we’ll be telling you a bit more about the range of Seminars that are on offer.
Caroline Dodds, from Edinburgh, will be leading a seminar called “Money Money Money.
What is the seminar about?
We give it, spend it, invest it, save it, work for it, and raise it. Jesus spoke about it more than almost any other subject. And yet we seldom give thought to how being a Christian impacts our view of money. In this seminar we’ll consider what scripture says about money and our hearts.
Who is the seminar for?
Anyone who spends money, and has a heart (everyone…I guess!).
Why is this area important?
Money is an area that we are reluctant to talk about – much like sex or death! Yet unlike those subjects, money hasn’t received much air-time in many church cultures. What does it mean to follow Jesus with our wallets? How do our relationships – with church, to parents, husbands or friends impact our decisions about money?
The Bible is full of strong warnings about money, that ought to make us sit up, listen, and consider how we might be double-minded about this subject. I’m praying this will be challenging, encouraging, and Jesus-exalting.
Besides speaking, what one thing about the Scottish Women’s Bible Convention are you looking forward to and why?
The teaching on James, because it’s a joy to be taught the scriptures by a sister in Christ!
